Charles Watson is from Richmond, California, and works between the US and Asia. For the past 5 years Charles has played Scar in Hong Kong's Festival of the King, "The Lion King." In January 2012 Charles Watson travels to Florida in a new entertainment capacity with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.
Before "Baby It's You" landed on Broadway, Charles Watson helped the show get its sea legs. As an understudy for Luther Dixon, Charles got to play with many of the now original Broadway cast members while "Baby Its You," premiered for its second run at The Coast Playhouse, in West Hollywood.
In 2010 Charles Watson joined with writer/producers Philip and Jerii Rodman, as Dred Scott, in "The Dred Scott Decision," Screen Actors Guild, Actors Center. This United States Supreme Court decision ruled that people of African descent, who were imported into the United States, along with their descendants could be held as slaves. These early African American people, slaves or not, had no protection by the United States Constitution and could never be citizens of its land.
Historically, this decision was a critical component that lead to the United States Civil War. Overturning that narrow scope of human inequality has led to a more progressive society, and a United States president who is half African, and American.
